This is the journal: the part of the site where I write about weddings I’ve actually photographed, and about the places people get married around Oxford and the Cotswolds.

What’s in here

Mostly real weddings, written up properly: where it was, what happened, what the light was doing, and what I’d tell another couple getting married in the same place. A few to start with: Caitlin & Joe at Oxford Town Hall and Medley Walled Garden, Millie & Wynn at Rousham House, Helen & Pol at Convocation House and the Cherwell Boathouse, and Lucy & Jon at a church in a field outside Charlbury.

There are also notes on venues, such as Blenheim Palace and the Bodleian, and a few longer pieces on how I work: why I still shoot film, what documentary photography actually means, and what happens at the reception.

Who’s writing

Me, Keith. I grew up in Oxford, and I photograph weddings across Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds and further afield when I’m asked. For bigger days a second photographer joins me. The short version of how I work: 35mm film for the romance, digital for the documentary truth of it all.
