CHRIST CHURCH OXFORD WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Christ Church is a college and a cathedral in one. Cardinal Wolsey began it as Cardinal College in 1525, Henry VIII made the priory church the cathedral in 1546, and Tom Quad is the largest quad in Oxford.

I could not find a wedding page on the college's site, so check with the college before you plan around Christ Church.

A thoughtful approach to your day

Given that Tom Quad, the cathedral and the Great Hall all sit on the standard visitor route, this is a day that rewards someone who knows how to find the quiet windows before the crowds arrive.

Documentary at heart, editorial in finish, on a mix of digital and 35mm film — used to sharing the space gracefully, and ready for the moments that happen anyway.

About Christ Church

Christ Church is unusual among Oxford colleges because its chapel is also Oxford's cathedral. Wolsey began Cardinal College here in 1525, Henry VIII made the priory church the cathedral in 1546, and Wren's tower dates from 1681 to 1682.

The college's own site lists venue hire for conferences and events, and I could not find a wedding page. Check with the college, which states what it hires out and to whom, before you plan around Christ Church. If you are already in touch with them, I'm glad to photograph it. chch.ox.ac.uk

Where are the best places for portraits at Christ Church?
That depends on what the college permits on the day, so ask them first and I will work with what you are given.

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Oxfordshire?
Pricing depends on hours of coverage, day-of assistance and albums. Visit the Wedding Day page for full details.

Do you photograph weddings outside Oxfordshire?
Yes. I regularly travel into the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and Buckinghamshire, and further afield for the right couple.

How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 12 to 18 months ahead, especially for weekend dates at popular Oxfordshire venues. Early enquiries are always welcome.

Do you offer engagement shoots in Oxfordshire?
Yes, an Oxfordshire engagement shoot is included in most packages, a relaxed way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the day itself.

What's your photography style?
Documentary and honest. I capture the day as it unfolds rather than directing every moment, with a calm, unobtrusive presence throughout.
