Rosie and Harrison knew exactly what they wanted when they got in touch about their wedding: an intimate, relaxed celebration in a setting that felt like home. They found their perfect spot at The Old Rectory in Church Westcote, a charming Cotswold venue with a cosy, familiar feel. The picturesque gardens and timeless architecture made it the ideal place for their day.

The Venue: The Old Rectory

Nestled in the village of Church Westcote, The Old Rectory had everything you would expect from a classic Cotswold venue. The ivy-clad walls, beautiful gardens, and countryside views make it feel like a hidden gem.

The Morning Prep: Laid-back and Personal

Rosie and her bridesmaids got ready in the light and airy rooms upstairs at the Rectory. The atmosphere was calm—just a small group enjoying the morning, chatting, and sipping tea while they prepared. Rosie’s dress was a simple, elegant design that suited the atmosphere of the day.

Meanwhile, Harrison and his groomsmen were downstairs, enjoying a laid-back morning of their own. With no strict schedule, they wandered through the gardens for a bit, taking in the view before heading to get ready. The Old Rectory’s gardens, with their winding paths and natural greenery, offered plenty of spots for candid shots, capturing the group’s relaxed and cheerful mood.

The Ceremony: Simple and Heartfelt

The ceremony took place in the Cotswold stone village church. Rosie and Harrison exchanged vows, surrounded by a group of close friends and family. The church provided a gorgeous setting for the couple, with the light streaming through the beautiful stained windows.

The Reception: Marquee on the Lawn

After the ceremony, guests gathered for drinks on the lawn, taking in the gardens and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. A marquee had been set up for the reception, blending perfectly with the surroundings and providing a beautiful yet simple space for the afternoon celebrations. The marquee was decorated with understated floral arrangements and long tables for a family-style meal, keeping everything in line with Rosie and Harrison's vision of a relaxed gathering.

The reception felt like a summer garden party—guests wandered through the gardens, chatted in small groups, and enjoyed the early evening sunshine. With the marquee set right on the lawn, it felt as if the celebration flowed seamlessly from one part of the day to the next. The space allowed everyone to feel at ease, mingling and soaking up the atmosphere.

Working with Rosie and Harris: A Photographer’s Experience

Rosie and Harrison were a pleasure to photograph. From the start, they wanted their wedding to feel natural and unposed. They wanted me to capture the day as it unfolded, without any forced moments. This allowed me to document the real, unscripted parts of their day. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to capture those moments for them—it was a day full of real smiles, genuine connections, and a true celebration of their love.
