I've not seen so many smiles at a wedding before.

Felix and Molly's Wedding at Rousham House

On a beautiful, sunny June afternoon, the picturesque Rousham House in Oxfordshire set the stage for Felix and Molly’s enchanting wedding. The historic estate, with its meticulously manicured gardens, classical architecture, and serene riverside, was the perfect backdrop for a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

The morning began with Molly and her bridesmaids getting ready in one of Rousham House’s charmingly elegant rooms. The air was filled with excitement and the soft sounds of laughter as the bridal party prepared for the big day. Molly's dress, a stunning creation of lace and silk, hung by the window, catching the sunlight and hinting at the beauty to come.

Meanwhile, Felix and his groomsmen were gathered in another part of the house, enjoying the camaraderie and anticipation that comes with such a momentous occasion. Felix, looking dapper in his tailored suit, couldn’t help but steal glances at the clock, eagerly awaiting the moment he would see Molly walk down the aisle.

As guests began to arrive, they were greeted by the sight of Rousham House’s breathtaking gardens in full bloom. The scent of roses and the vibrant colours of the flowers added to the joyous atmosphere. A string quartet played softly in the background, setting a romantic tone for the ceremony.

The ceremony itself took place in the nearby church. Felix stood at the altar, his heart racing, as Molly appeared at the end of the aisle on her father's arm. Her radiant smile and the way her eyes sparkled in the sunlight left everyone in awe. As she made her way toward Felix, it was clear to everyone present that they were witnessing a love story.

After the ceremony, guests were treated to a reception on the estate's expansive lawn. Long tables were set under canopies of fairy lights, and the decorations reflected the couple’s love of nature and elegance. The menu featured locally sourced delicacies, and a towering cake adorned with fresh flowers took centre stage.

As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the gardens, Felix and Molly shared their first dance as a married couple. The music swelled, and they moved together as if no one else was present.

The evening continued with heartfelt toasts, laughter, and dancing under the stars. Friends and family celebrated well into the night, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Felix and Molly’s wedding at Rousham House was more than just an event; it was a testament to their love and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives together.

As the night drew to a close, Felix and Molly stole a quiet moment together, looking out over the moonlit gardens. Hand in hand, they reflected on the day and the journey that lay ahead. With hearts full of love and happiness, they knew that their story was just beginning, and they were ready to face the future together, no matter what it held.

Rousham House had witnessed many events in its long history, but on that perfect June afternoon, it had borne witness to something truly special—the union of Felix and Molly, and the start of a beautiful life together.

OK so thats not your standard wedding blog, but its my job to tell a story. I think a love story about a wedding day at such a beautiful venue such as Rousham house is more fitting than a boring blog. I think that the pictures speak for themselves and a wedding at Rousham house is truly momentous.

Molly and Felix asked me to document their day and people having fun, this fell very much into the documentary wedding photography side of my work. I still made some beautiful portraits with the couple, documented the details and decorations on the day & waited on the roof of Rousham house in some glorious sunshine for the group shot on the lawn.

I had the best day being the wedding photographer for Molly and Felix at Rousham house and I look forward to the next one.
